Do you sell cels that were used in the actual anime production?
In the past cels were made for each frame of animation, but today anime is digitally created. Therefore the cels are not from the production, but are taken from screen captures. The anime studio then proceeds to manually draw and paint each cel to match the capture.

How often do you get new cels?
The time it takes to get new cels in varies as the production of some cels takes longer than others. If you would like to stay updated, please subscribe to our cel newsletter: Sign me up!

How many of each cel are produced?
Because the cels are very time consuming to create, they are made in very small quantities, usually no more than 10. Therefore when a cel is sold out, we usually do not have a second edition created unless the demand is very high.

How do I take care of my purchased cel?
Each cel is matted, then put in a cel bag to protect the artwork. You can choose to keep it in the mat & bag provided, or get it framed professionally. When handling the actual cel, we recommend that you do handle it by the edges and prevent touching the cel so that finger oils do not damage the paint. Also, keep your cel in a cool/room temperature area, away from direct sunlight.

What does "mat" mean?
A "mat" normally comes within a picture frame, and adds color or decoration to the art piece. It helps hold a piece of artwork together and often gives it a nice finishing touch. A mat is normally a flat piece of paper-based material, often very thick and almost cardboard-like.

You don't carry my favorite anime series, can I suggest it?
Yes! Please do not e-mail your suggestions but post them in the Anime Cel Art forum thread. If there is enough demand, we may eventually carry your favorite series.

Order and Shipping

Why are there Pre-Order only items?
Due to the time it takes to create a cel, we can only offer a limited quantity of certain items on-hand. We offer the option to pre-order unavailable cels because cels will go into production with a high enough demand.

Do you accept payments other than Credit Cards?
Yes, we accept money orders and cashier's checks. Sorry, no personal checks will be accepted, and we do not recommend cash. Make sure to print your order and send it with your payment to:

What is your cancellation policy?
No cancellation will be accepted unless for back-ordered and/or pre-ordered products. We will charge 20% of the amount credited back as a service charge/restocking fee.

What is your return policy?
Items cannot be returned once they are received unless the item is defective when it arrives. If you need to return an item, please contact dmidirect@emanga.com .

Do you have shipping insurance?
Shipping Insurance: We can include shipping insurance for USPS Domestic and International orders. Please add the Shipping Insurance as a product. We will let you know the cost and once we receive payment, we will ship. We recommend shipping insurance for USPS International First Class Shipping and Media Mail (Domestic) as they take longer to arrive and may get lost in the process.

Signature Service: For USPS Domestic orders ONLY, we offer a Signature Service for $3.00. You will need to sign for the package when delivered. If you don't receive your package, we will be able to find out when the package was signed and by whom.

I hate paying for shipping. Is there anything I can do?
Occasionally, we'll also have special promotions for free shipping, so keep a look out for them! If you live in the Los Angeles area, you are more than welcome to come pick your order up at our office in Gardena.

Do you take international orders?

I don't see my country on the list, what should I do?
Please order via Money Order through our website and select the nearest country to your location from the countries listed.

Please put your correct shipping address in the "Add Comments About Your Order" section and indicate if you would prefer to pay by PayPal.

For the shipping method of your choice please try selecting the United States Postal Service rather than selecting the "Pick-up Option" since we can only ship by USPS for all International orders. For all non-listed countries, your choice of USPS shipping method will be either the Express Mail and/or the Priority Mail method.

Once you make an order, please let us know the Order Number by emailing us at servicemaster@akadot.com. Once we get your email we will contact you with the correct total and shipping fee.

You will then be able to let us know which shipping method you prefer.

As soon as we receive the payment, we will fix the order and ship it.
